It is always a good idea to book while still pregnant. My calendar generally fills up 4-6 months in advance. However, I am often able to make room for last minute bookings, so please don't hesitate to ask my availability. Sometimes life happens, time gets away from us while we are pregnant, and we don't get around to scheduling photos. I completely understand that, and I will try my best to fit you in so you don't miss the once in a lifetime opportunity of newborn photos for your baby.
Maternity sessions ideally take place between 32-36 weeks.
Newborn sessions generally take place between 6-18 days. When you book your session, I will set aside time on my calendar around your due date for your session. When your baby is born, let me know and we will confirm a specific time and date for your session. I ask that you contact me within 72 hours of birth for newborn sessions, so that we can schedule your session as soon as possible. If at any time it is determined that you will have a planned induction or c-section, let me know and we can schedule your session in advance.
All newborn sessions take place in your home. Please note that travel fees may apply if you live outside of the Inner West or Lower North Shore area.
Maternity sessions may be held either in your home or on-location at one of my favourite outdoor locations around the Inner West or Lower North Shore area.
While most newborn sessions last around 2-2.5 hours, I ask clients to set aside 4 hours for their newborn session. Some babies need to eat and be soothed more than others and my aim is to have you feeling completely relaxed and enjoying every moment of your session without feeling rushed. If we need to go beyond 2-2.5 hours to create a beautiful gallery of images for you, I am happy to do so.
Upon booking your due date in, you will receive a welcome guide with all the relevant information, including guidance on keeping your house warm, keeping you baby's belly full, and more. Beyond that, I ask that you try your best to relax and not worry about a thing. I'll take care of the details so that there is no stress on you.
Yes, absolutely. Your session is based around your newborn baby, however siblings and Mum and Dad can be included in the shoot if you would like. I'm also happy to help with any styling considerations (regarding colours, outfits, etc.) and this can be discussed in detail with you prior to your session.
Due to my limited availability, family sessions are offered on a limited basis a couple times each year, and are reserved for clients who have previously worked with A Tiny Affair Photography.
